#120 is the max diameter.  It isn't required.  Small diameter shoelaces, butcher twine, etc. should be just fine.  I couldn't find #120 with a 2 minute google search so just blew it off and went with butcher twine.

Never even seen you checked by DFW.  Now if your talking abs and another race there could be something to that.  At least with Mendocino Ab watch and who they call in on. 

With that said I try to follow fishing laws/regs as close as I can because you never know who will be checking you and there interpretation.

Why not use 100% cotton 16ply butcher twine? Cheap. Ready available.

Because people like to over-complicate shit and make it harder than it really needs to be...just my opinion. I am using my son's shoe strings. They never last a week, so the crabs will be safe in a matter of days.

I use cotton shoe strings.  Usually used ones out of old shoes I'm tossing.  (So they're darn near rotten anyways)  I ought to toss the rest of the shoe in the pot.  If crabs like strong odors that is.
