Had a few days of vacay left so we we went to Blue Lakes for 3 days.
Being from SR it's less than 1 1/2 hrs
so worked out well.
Man, the mornings were beautiful OTW!
The lake still has it's charm.

The fishing is a little tough though,
there's still a few trout plants around ,
It's been 3 months since the last planting!
I saw some locals pull in 3 10 inchers trolling with castmasters

There are bass in there too,  the normal things work but Art from The Narrows  Said ur best bet is drop shoting
nite crawlers. So I did!
I was working the south side of the narrow and my wife pulled up with the pooch ,
so the dog jumped into my boat and  my wife leaned over for a kiss,
and within 1 second  I felt the tug tug tug
I was so longing for!!
Here Honey take the dog and I gotta go!!!
Nothing huge but about 13 in of spunky
largemouth. I let him live another day and that was the only [emoji226] in 2 days

All in all, it was a great little getaway for some much needed R&R[emoji39]

Great report, Scotty.

Loved the part where the wife pulled up and soon you were feeling the tug tug...  :smt005

Sorry - forgive me!  :smt001

Blue Lakes is always such a little oasis along the otherwise dry stretch between Lake Mendo and Clear Lake.  At least the upper one is...

I fished there once and found it tough too, but it's got a deep and clean quality to it that stands out for its location.  It always trips me out to see the houses on the south side under nice fir trees - they're in the shade almost all the time.

Thanks for sharing your trip.

Hey Eric
Yea those houses are on a pretty steep bank, I can only imagine the challenges it was to build them...
I think we hit the lake at the perfect time , the calm before the storm, there expecting
4 inches up there.
My wife thinks she is my good luck charm now [emoji4]

Nice saying hi to you on OTW Scotty. Great pictures. I did finally get a trout before the wind kicked me off the water and my buddies managed a few bass on the creature/drop shot. No monsters, but a gorgeous morning OTW.
