This stuff from Walmart
It works for me.....but....sleep is most important.
When I get sick it's usually because I'm very tired or because I didn't take the pills soon enough before my dive.
Diving is way worse than kayaking for me.
Usually fine without anything on the kayak. I HAVE to take something when I dive. Same when on a boat.
Not sure why, that's just how it is.
Is he getting plenty of sleep the night before the dive?

He got seven hours and was feeling nauseous during the paddle out.
There was mixed swell but nothing big. He wasn't feeling it and didn't want to
push him. Was in the water 30 mins and aborted. Short paddle no biggie.

Patients has worked thus far and I believe it will work in the long run.

Did a quick shore dive while he recouped and shot a MFE for DOTY so I'm happy   :smt001

second these other guys. have a good friend who literally will get sick every time, even when it's really calm. but if he takes the generic CVS stuff , i think i saw it was the non drowsy stuff, but not sure, he's totally good for the whole duration. clearly the stuff works! good luck man! safe diving!

If I get sick underwater then I stop diving.

I am not a diver, but curious about puking underwater... is this easy to do?  It seems I would probably drown.  Ive puked in plenty of toilets, but just never submerged my face in the water before to find out.  Someone please explain.  :drool2 :drool :puker: :pukel:

I second what Rob said.  If Bonnie works for you DO Not buy off the shelf--just ask the pharmacist.  Ridiculously cheaper and just as good.

have been sick diving before too. Usually if it is a little surge etc. I take Meclazine that I get from Target. 100 pills for 5 bucks or so. Ask for it at the pharmacy counter, not on the shelf.

It did happen on one dive.  I was already holding my breath so the vomit just flowed.  When it stopped I kept holding my breath and surfaced.

It was a very strange feeling and surprised at how many fish showed up after that.

Now if it happens I will just sit on the kayak and wait for the other diver to finish.  Don't want anyone else to cut their dive short because of me so I will stick it out.

Nice.  Thanks for the reply.  Sounds crazy... I'll stick to vomiting on my lap.  Wouldn't want to fly off the yak bc of my upchuck.

Only happens to me on crossed up swells. I find if I can angle myself head on to the oncoming waves I am fine.... But once those angles start crossin I'm an unhappy camper :smt078

I puked in the water while diving at GSX and once while diving for stripers in the surf...very hungover both times...

Not real fun.
