1st time on the yaks with my Boys

Wow, great report! I have a 9 year old and 7 year old, this year they seem pretty interested in trying.

Nothin' like having fun yakking with your boys. Also helps to catch monster crappie.

Reminds me of fishing CL as a kid with my dad and catching crappie and blue gill by the bucketful.

Nice! Very Nice!!!  Enjoy these years, they go by fast. My son's 18 now and his interests have, umm,... turned to the female gender. that's the end of it. For a few years anyways...

That small rod looks like an ice-fishing rod....IMO, great starter rod for kids.

 My son wants a yak so bad I couldn't let him see your post.He needs a few more inches before he can paddle.
 When the male sunfish are on their beds at Clearlake the kids can have a ball using crappie jigs,flies and small plastics.Adults find it fun too!On ultralite gear they really fight hard.
