Loma Prieta wildfire

It's a big fire from my POV in Santa Cruz.

We can see the the smoke, and lots of it.

See the smoke from my house in Aromas.  All over KSBW 8 on TV. Hope they get this wrangled fast.

Just before 4 pm they posted that the Loma fire was 150 acres. They usually update around 6 pm:

400-500 acres now

Holy shit.... Let's hope they get a quick handle on this one!!!  Lots of houses up there, especially on this side of the mountain. Thankfully the winds are relatively light today.

News reported 1 structure destroyed; 300 in harm's way.

Prayers sent to those in harms way.

It's big. I could see it on my way into work tonight from Hyw 68. Someone already said it but hope everyone is ok. Lots of home up there.

View from Los Gatos this afternoon.

I jammed home to San Jo from Scotts Valley when the receptionist said Hwy 17 was at risk of closing.   It wasn't closed.  At 4:00, from summit, looked like fire was a good bit southeast of Summit Rd @ 17.

Saw smoke in the horizon on my way home from work today. Knew something big was burning. Now I know what it is.
