I couldn't resist the temptation. Ordered the Navigator Kayak Paddle, 240cm, it came out to 143.81 plus tax = 155.64 sweet!!

Can't wait to dump the stock hobie paddle for this :)
Why 240 over 230? :smt006

my stock hobie paddle is 230 and since the hobie outback is wide, I had to lean into the stroke to paddle. So I figure going with a tad longer paddle, I don't have to lean too much and don't have to splash water either. Shall see how it works out tomorrow :)

Boom, thanks for the explanation, my kraken is 29,5 wide and my heavyass paddle is 223cm so I picked up the 230 and was making sure I didn't error not getting the 240.  You made the right choice for your rig as did I.  Hope we meet..............some monday.  Good l.u.c.k. (Labor Under Correct Knowledge) tomorrow....... :smt006, oh and thanks fishing addict for this alert, your moniker name affected my wallet today for good cause, but it was a close call with the wife.  Scored though...........just need one solid crab rig than no more kayak stuff purchases forever........... :smt005

I went 240 over 230 for my wife's paddle as she's got a very low paddle angle, but is a fairly tall person so she sometimes complains of hitting the side of her kayak, in spite of it being only about 2' wide. Longer yet lighter paddle than her old waterlogged aluminum carlisle 230 should help with this. If not, we'll downshift back to a 230.

It's great that your wife kayaks with you, Thanks for the reasoning.... :smt006

sure thing!

And yeah, I don't take it for granted that she like to hit the water. Will fish it too if it's freshwater.

The 2nd (backordered) paddle arrived at my work today. I love that West Marine shipped it without breaking it down first. I wonder how this will end up dim weighting when it's in a 7' long box:  :smt005

Got mine with chips probably from their display hanger. Bit of wood exposed. What can I use to protect that part? Will it rot if I don't do anything?

Mine (240cm) arrived yesterday in fine shape, maybe one small nick, no wood exposed. Was broken down. Shipped from FL.

I used mine for the 1st time in HMB yesterday.  230cm, and was awkward at first being so light.  Got the hang of it and was moving.  Still, not used to how light.  Almost like when a heavier item get moving it is hard to stop, it does not feel like I can control it as well but I will get over it.  My shoulders do not have the same stress the day after(today) that I may have felt with my heavier beast of a paddle.  Grateful for the heads up on the sale. :smt006

Tried my wife's 240 today and it's an adjustment, but I like it. When she gets over her cold, I think she'll love it compared to the Carlisle "fills up with water like" Magic POS she's been using.

It's a fair amount quieter and is easier to paddle without bubbles than even the kaliste I've got. Between this, the lack of flex in the shaft and maybe the extra reach compared to the 230, it moves my 14' SIK very easily. Got it over 6mph on a dead sprint, which I think I've not been able to do before. The flip side to this efficiency is it feels like more of a workout than with the Kaliste (but a LOT less than the Magic).

Also returned the previous less-of-a-sale one to West Marine today. Wife predicted we were going to end up with two  :smt044.

Again, thanks for the heads up on this!

Took mine out Munday as well, it rocked would like a wider blade. But she floats and moves well I think I'll transfer the grips off my old one to this new one all worked well.
