Just pulled down my Loomis to get ready for sac chrome this weekend. Put very little pressure, nothing like what a fish would do, and it snapped about 6 inches below tip. How do I go about getting it replaced?

If loomis is "all that" should be no questions and shipping fee for a new rod, at least Lamiglas did that but i do not know loomis warranty stuff

Funny, I found a broken lamiglas in the garbage can at first st. in Benicia and called them and told them I have a broken fishing rod.  They told me to cut out the model and mail it and they gave me almost any rod for 50$.  Things may have changed.

Mail it in they will replace it. I think you pay s&h. That's how I remember.

Having sold various fishing rods at one time,  many of the manufacturers are steering away from " no questions asked" policy especially w/o a sales receipt....

My .02 is to call Loomis directly ; get a name and make a deal

..the shop where you buy it pays for the rod ;obviously  , not as much as you; they want to get reimbursed just like you for a one for one ; so sometimes a shop is apprehensive to do that , some more than others

A lot of manufacturers/shops may or may not  charge a "small " fee for S/H and a fee for  a replacement rod.

But anything is possible ;hope you get a free bee ..and remember : to tell everyone what happens...word of mouth is strong marketing

Good luck

Oh forgot ..factory defects and parts such as guides,  grips etc etc are the exception to the rule if you can show a defect that results in damage usually the exception

Yup and I think that's exactly why they changed their warranty.

Lol! I'm not blaming you I think you are a good guy Eddie but what you just described is why companies can't have the awesome replacement warranties that they used too. I used to love lamiglas but they are a little brittle and high maintenance without the replacement policy.

The loomis will set you back anywhere from $50 to $100 if I remember correctly, depends on which model.thats why alot of people unloaded most of their loomis rods.iamgine paying $385 for a rod then having to pay another $85 dollars to do a warranty claim
My biggest worry is that my wife(when I'm dead)will sell my fishing gear for what I said I paid for it

FWIW ..yep Lami changed ..changed so much lot of salesman won't even show a Lami

Also Loomis has a sales incentive for shops/salesman ;sale a dozen ,the salesman gets a new rod of his choosing

Shimano 100% better have a sales receipt; unless it's a factory defect , they started that about a year maybe two years now

Most under asked question from customers:what's the warranty policy

Not defending but I told them I found it in a garbage can and flooded them with high praise and I think she buckled.  On another note, I've got two fin nor spools for my ifs 4000(discontinued)so I called van staal to ask if they would fit on any other model.  I told the gal that I flipped my kayak without the rod secured and it sunk into the drink.  She said I think we have one here that the bail doesn't trip.  She is going to see if she can repair it and it seemed like she was going to mail it for free, I'm kinda hoping.....I found those two spools in the same garbage can..........just kidding.  I do like to see what all these made in china companies offer for a phonecall.  Pennies to them and keepin' us happy with our junk.  On the other hand, I've had to replace 4 guides with my own cash on my made in usa seeker, and the best they could do was give me wholesale(?) on a new one.  Quality control..........I like costco warranties the best, but they wouldn't take back a massage table after one year, management was called over and I think we had a laugh :smt005 :smt006
