Wilderness Systems Lithium Battery

Decided to start a new thread for this one.

Looks very promising. Coming out end of this year or early next year.

15 amp hour, Lithium, 2 5v USB ports, 1 - 12 volt socket, on and off switch, battery level indicator, Water resistant, includes charger and leads for 12v.

I am waiting how this one stack up with Juicebox.

Looks nice. Can't wait to see one in person.

I've used this lithium battery the last three yak trips. $68.00 with free shipping from Amazon. Run time with Elite 4 Lowrance on max screen brightness is four hours. I dropped the screen brightness level to mid range and am hoping for a bit more run time. Five hours is about as long as I care to sit in a yak so that would be long enough for me. Charges very quickly.

That battery looks great. Juicebox doesn't seem to be coming to  market. I hope that producing these is a challenge which can be met. I'm taking a wait and see approach with new battery technology.

I think Rob said the wilderness battery will be out in March.

Release is 3/15. It was delayed from the freight company, but now on the way.

I could have used it today to charge my Phone while on he water.

Buy at retailer or online only?  Who's going to have it?

It will be sold at retailers on line and locally.

That looks great, and at 15ah it's going to go a long time between charges.

Not all lithium batteries are created equal, but they do have problems with explosions and venting gas during a short/rapid discharge event.  It could be that you are literally playing with fire.  I wouldn't want to be the beta tester with one of these in a kayak on the salt.

A my closest ncka friends have used lithuim type batteries for years to power our FF.  I used mine yesterday for over 6 hours on a fishing trip.
