Are the grounds out of Moss within kayak range?

I want to go out and try to shoot some.  :smt117

my range is 4-5 mile 9-10 total some days so well within range, last year when they were around I saw em within 1 mile out from shore, just gotta find where the birds are diving and bait is working... good luck would be pretty rad to shoot one!

Okay, 2 dumb questions:
1) What size are the bonitos?
2)I thought I knew what "irons" are, but please clarify.

I saw that they've been getting real nice ones - 8lbs+.  most are trolling rapalas.  Irons would be jigs.

Ah, thank you.  That "iron" bit is kinda confusing since the jigs seem to be a lot of plastic or feathers.  I assumed the iron might be referring to flashers/spoons/spinners, which makes sense for tunies.

I think he may be referring to surface irons like the ones they use for yellowtail down south.

This may get you inspired.  From last year, flylining a small mackeral on 20#.  About a mile out, A TON OF FUN to catch:)

Yeah, sorry. Still have the Islander Trip on the brain.  I was referring to surface irons like the Salas and Tady's that they use in southern Cal.  But, if our guys recommend Rapalas, go with the local knowledge.   :smt003

I don't believe there is a size limit, but as always you've gotta confirm that yourself. :)

If you do catch one, make sure you bleed and ice it immediately after catching. (So I hear, amyway...)

I got buzzed by schools multiple times underwater while diving last year...less than a mile from shore...just couldn't get a shaft into any of them.  :smt010

Hopefully this year!!
