This was my first time out at Ocean Cove and also my first time using my brand new Trevala 6'6 Medium! Daviator invited me out and I met up with him and Archie Marx. They helped me unload and load my kayak which was a big help.  That ramp sure was gnarly. I backed down using my 2wd escape, and as I was trying to go back up my tires slid lol. So I decided to walk my kayak up when I got back lol. On the water by 8am. After some chit chat and getting a few useful tips from them we headed out on the water. Conditions were pretty good as far as wind went. Got out past the cove pretty easy. Archie lent me a couple irons and gave me some tips on catching lings. Bait was bubbling, in some areas which was a great sign! To make things short. I limited out on lings, and caught a few rockfish. Those lings are sure fun to catch 😃 . The rockfish are fun to catch too. I was having way more fun then when I was using my medium heavy tiger stick rod becaus I could actually feel their bites more! Saw a dolphin and something big kept coming out of the water and splashing around, I was just hoping it wasn't the landlord checking in 😂

It was fun fishing with Archie and Daviator. I haven't fished with them too many times and glad I did today! 😃

My biggest fish was a 22in Olive!
My biggest ling was a 26in!

Looks nice on the water. I love it when it looks like a lake.
I hope your lings were longer than Olive.  :smt002

Great job Steph!!

22 inches is a HUGE Olive!!  :smt007 :smt007

To put it in perspective for you, there has only been one Olive longer than that shot in DOTY since 2012...and that one is the current State Diving Record!!!

http://doty.norcalkayakanglers.com/speciesleaders/list_by_species/11

And I don't see any Olives that big on AOTY:

Great job!!
