It was fun fishing there while it lasted.  Only a matter of time before she realized there is more money to be made.  She could have at least did a gradual increase like from $8 to $10 then more over time.  But now its nothing but greed n money grab.

She was too laxed collecting her fees.  Payment is an honor system and lot of people abused it.  People would come and go and sometimes not pay.  If she had better enforcement she would be in better financial shape.  Gotta look at it from a business point of view.  She has expenses to pay too.

Nah I don't buy that.  She made sure we paid.  She would come down and check.  But then again it is her property.  She can charge what she wants.

In our conversation she did say the road needs to be repaired, traffic and parking are an issue with boaters and divers and felt she has not raised the rates in many years.

Whoever feel it's alright to bring the kayak down the death hill, be my guess.

If you feel fine with paying $23 for a kayak and park up the hill after unloading. You need to drive car up then you need to come down to your kayak. After the trip, you need to walk up again. That's paying too much for too little comfort.

The owner could have made a small infrastructure investment in the form of a gate to keep vehicles & carted kayaks from going down the road before paying. They are raking in the cash from the monthly rents paid for the trailer spaces along the cliff. The beach & launch fees are just the seasonal icing on the cake. I won't be paying $23 to launch my kayak into the ocean.

I guess we have it pretty lucky up here.  The most I can remember paying to launch a kayak north of the sohum/mendo line and south of the columbia river is $5 and most places are free.  $23?  That's insane.

She won't drop the rates as long as enough people are willing to pay them.

I sure miss my long-time buddy Dave her father I would have done anything to help him out when I was there. he probably got audited it has to pay the man back for unclaimed Revenue.
or she just might want to buy a Coke and potato chip vending machine and a coin operated water meter at the fish cleaning station.
ask for a receipt when you make payment with your 62 rolls of pennies.

You pay your taxes like that too? She's running a business. Don't like it? Don't go.
