I only fish with one rod when I've used the downrigger.  The hassles of a fish tangling the other line would be a mess.
My other downrig., theScotty, is packed in a box with my fishing equip. and I'll keep it for the future on my other kayak when I go with a friend if he wants to use one.  (I don't think you mean "where is my other downrig." . . . on the kayak . . . as though I would use two DR's on the same kayak.  I have extra clips if I were to extra lines on only one DR.).

I think Jeff, ken kickfish' friend, has two downriggers, one on each side and a 30" ice fishing rod with each.
all out of a SIK.

not sure tho.  so I did mean two downriggers even tho putting two rods on one rigger is what most would do.

hey yall,

I'm from just north of yall and I've been hanging out on Polepole's board. I posted this there and thought it might be of use when I stumbled on this thread.

I came up with this one after trying the rod stub and big tip top. That was too long and bulky. I tried using the stripper guide too, but that would not take a lateral load.

This one works because of the rod guide ring that’s epoxied into the end of the PVC pipe. I cut off the guide’s foot, put the guide ring on my finger, and put 90 sec epoxy around the rim, then stuck it into the end of the pipe. That’s an old mooching reel and reel seat that was lying around. I spooled it with some 100lbs Kevlar that has marks every 5' or so. Each crank is almost exactly 1', but I really don't count because I watch where it is on the fish finder and adjust accordingly. I use a 4# ball that fits right into the cup holder molded into my boat and cranks up surprisingly easy. I had a really nice adjustable ProRelease clip until I set it on the edge of my yak for a second

I currently use it through the slot for the leeboard in my Hobie BigA and it sits on the floor. I'll put it in a rod holder after I relocate the ff.  This one is still at bit long but you can build whatever length you need by changing the length of pipe. After I get the length right I may pretty it up with a nice butt wrap.  Or not  :smt002
