Heading up there this week.  Staying in a home in Shaver Lake but we also will be visiting with a group staying at Dinky Creek.  Yak hopper gave me the low down on the fishing (if there is water left) at Dinky Creek.

What about around Shaver?  Hikes,  shore fishing?  Dial me in so we have something awesome to do with two five year old twin girls.

Thanks in advance.

I've had some fun catching smallmouth bass at Shaver. I did well casting a small crawfish pattern deep diving crankbait, but I'm sure other smally techniques would work, too.

Hang out in the Dinkey pools with natural granite water slides, then fish the portion downstream of the McKinley Grove Rd bridge, they turn on hot right before sunset. Good luck!  :smt006

I concur on Courtright. More shore fishing but you have to hike down from the road. And the trout should be active.

Haven't been to Huntington Lake this year but water is up. The Rancheria Creek can produce some nice fish as well. Its at the end of Huntington right before Kaiser Pass road.

good luck and have fun :)

Rooster tails with a couple salmon eggs worked for me ten years ago?
