Home depot didnt have all the parts, but I made do with adding a reducer and attaching a drill handle. Mike, your right, the ball is not an easy thing to find, I might have to get one from you on the next hunt!

Thought I would bring this to the top with the recent interest in Ghosties

Any Restaurant/Bar Supply should have them.

Mike, this design is deluxe & great diagram with the parts listed. Nice touch with the handle, Ben.

BTW, you said you've had this one about 10 yrs - have you noticed significant results? I'm thinking you should be ready to move up to a larger diameter tube by now...  :smt001

I'm just happy it's the same size it was 11yrs ago if it was any bigger I would get tired holding it up :smt012

Here is a design basically like Mikes but I changed some things to use what I had or what was in stock at the hardware store. I had thinwall 2" pvc so I used it for the body.

The gasket/valve is a piece of 1/4" rubber sheet(like a truck mudflap) I cut out a circle and spun it against a piece of coarse sand paper to fit the 2" pvc. I think I'm going to add another rubber washer for insurance. I drilled a 3/4"endcap then epoxied a 1/2" bolt(stainless-ouch!)into it along with 2 large stainless washers.

My handle can be unscrewed to take the pump apart. It is 3/4" end caps and a3/4- T with 1/2 threaded hole. The 1/2"nipple glued into the 3/4 pvc pump rod.

Forgot the handle pic. Nipple gets glued into shaft the handle can be unscrewed to remove pump shaft.

Cool. BTW, is the bottom of the tube angled or just flat?

it can be either.

but many people cut it at an angle since it will push into the dirt easier.

only problem with that is if you have bad aim you could cut a poor ghostie in half =)

Nice work Mark                 After watching that Video that was on another post I got another tip for you make yourself one of these and strap it to your waist so you don't have to go back to the bucket for every shrimp.

Better yet Mickey, strap it to Ty! Then let him run to the bucket. :smt002
