May not always catch a big fish off the kayak. But will always catch an adventure.

Have you tried plugging or plastic worm fishing for striper? I caught a few on broke-back rapalas in the smelt color, and I heard you can use plastic Sandworms with good results. Using anchovies is tried and true, but there's just something really exciting about catching striper with modified Largemouth tactics.

Tried anchovy, squid ? Chicken liver and  large shrimp. Tried some rattle trapping and jigging. No luck on that . Only anchovy was extremely active biting.  Some bites off chicken lover. I'll try plugging and the wax work next time thanks for the tip

Thanks for the report! Which way did you paddle on hill slough? Probably toward suisun and right around dead man's island, I've always had pretty good luck over there, and it's a short paddle from my house.

If you're in the area this weekend and need a partner, PM me otherwise I'll be chasing salmon towards Sacramento.  I live about 5 mins from Hill Slough.

Jonasoi510, remember that the smelt brokeback plugs tend to catch seagulls if you're not careful. Trying to unhook one of those feathered idiots is a real shit show, I'll tell ya.

Yeah hooked one with a rattle trap once. Dam seagull grabbed it the minute it hit the water. It was fun until I had to unhook the dam thing. Thanks for the heads up. Appreciated! Gonedquatching
