Capt Sloppywood and I are launching at Miller Park on Tues morning 7 AM for some halibut fishing.  This time the winds look much better and the tides are a gentle 1.5 foot in and outgoing.  Who's with us?

 Good luck out there.
I scored a 32 incher last Wednesday, my buddy bagged a 25 incher. Both came on live bait .
Tons of bait by the weather bouy.
Fish were caught in 22 feet of water inside the weather bouy.
Saw a commercial guy bag 7 halibut trolling frozen herring. All on three way set up with no dodger .
I know I'd have a tray or two of herring next time, that way I could start fishing right away .

Yellow can, due south of Hog. Can't miss it.
Usually a boat or two (or ten) near it.

I'm thinking about trying tomorrow, but each time I check the wind, it keeps coming up...
Hopefully see you there.

The wind on Wednesday was predicted to blow.
It was glass. Picked up by 1.
Don't let the interweb foul up a good time.

The WX reports vary from site to site but they all call for "some" wind.  I think the later in the day the worse the wind gets.  I'm going but will have to see what the water looks like before I launch.  It really sucks for me because I have a 2 hour drive just to look......and NOAA has let me down plenty of times in the past.  Hopefully I'll get in 4-5 hours before things go south.  After all...I only need 3 halibut.....how hard could it be?  See everybody there.

Sweet, weather underground has worked for me to predict wind patterns.

Is it worth going to Tomales without sonar?

Could be.  There are some really shallow places you would want to know about.  If you stay in the channel (between the red and green daymarkers) you could drift bait for butts or sharks.  Bait is available at all depths.  Give it a try....beats sitting on the couch reading about how "smokin hot" the bite was.  The only thing holding me back would be the stinking wind....some is OK but if it's too much it's a no go.
