Afternoon everybody, I'm not very active on this site since I've moved out of state but I have a family gathering in ca in mid July and I'd love to get on a charter out of bodega. Anybody have any suggestions? Friday the 15th will be my only day to fish. Haven't fished salt water since late 2012 so I'm dying to get back out there. Thanks guys and gals.

I've been out with this outfit, http://www.bodegabayfishing.com/, a few times. Always got us on the fish, including finding the salmon for tet one day.

to be honest haven`t gone out with him in a long while  2-3 years... but when we did we got fish and his crew and he were chill , didnt know he was a family friend till we got back...I`d check the Miss Anita too as an option  for the record I don`t endorse the New Sea Angler his practices are unethical IMO...however there are those that still go out do to the cost comparison and just to fish

Yes, take a 6-pack.

Capn' Rick (though you will get on fish) combines a 1 hour pre-departure lecture about how amazing he is, with multiple hours of chiding you over the intercom, whilst charging you for squid "for the crab traps" which collects and puts back in the freezer, etc. And then there is the questionable fishing practices. +1 for the "fuck cap'n rick!"

Lol. Heard that for years. I called a few realives and told them that I wanted to fish while I was in town and they had to remind me of their bad trips with Rick...

i am correcting my earlier statement. I believe the six pack I went on was through bodegabayfishing or it may be called Fish On charters. I believe we went on the silver and blue boat and I believe the captain was Les. I could be wrong about captains name but he looks familiar on the website
Captain was cool, the salmon weren't cooperating that day but I don't think they were for anyone in the fleet. The captain called in some favors and one of his friends hooked us up with sharing his traps so we got to pull up some crabs and eat good anyways. I would recommend them as a viable option. Nice boat too.

As for The sea angler dtizz hit it on the head...........Rick Powers loves Rick Powers.
But I won't fault anybody for going out with him if that's what they need to do to get out and fish. It's not the best experience in my opinion but fishing is fishing

Someone Mentioned Captain Rick and the New Sea Angler:

http://www.bodegabaysportfishing.com/

His website is WAAAYYY out of date but he's a fine captain and really takes pride in putting his clients on fish.

I did a rock cod/ling cod party boat in November 2015 with him and had a great time!

My vote goes to Captain Rick!

If you like to be crowed Rick will put you on the schools of 6 inch blacks all day long and occasional lings( and lecture you how great he is) I've worked for a few years on 6 packs during weekends and miss Anita has been good along with Bob on the relentless , i worked for fish on last year and he is ok, I heard Vince  om the miss anita wasn't running it anymore, a fishing buddy was trying to pick up the job and he is a great relaxed fisherman.  Right now the salmon sucks for the most part and the lings have been good.  Better off taking out a kayak or putting on a wetsuit if you dive.

I wouldn't set foot on Rick the Dicks boat if it was the last vessel to ply the waters. Id be a farmer instead.
