Old Town - Pedal Drive, probably with a new kayak launch, as you can see in their video that they have a new seat attachment system, a rail.  Looks like its an elevated seat, with a rear attachment point slightly higher than the front.  Maybe they'll do something like the Old Town Predator XLP version.

Wildy - Looks like their Pedal drive will come out soon?

Not sure what Lowrance will do this year, but I'm hoping motorguide will announce an auto stow/deploy trolling motor like what Minn Kota has.

I'm really just hoping to see SOME progress on the pedal drive from Wildy. I'd prefer it to fit my existing Thresher, but even if not I'd prefer to buy a second Wildy boat rather than pick up a Hobie (which I've been looking at).

i don't know about catch up, more like progress.  The bass fishing market is evolving and those guys are really interested in a pro angler style boat with a pedal drive that can reverse.  Us in NorCal are actually out of line with the majority of the kayak fishing market, in that we don't care as much about wide, stable kayaks that can store 10 rods for bass fishing.  The huge success of KBS KBF (and to a lesser extent, yak-a-bass) shows that is where the manufacturing money is to be made going forward.  I wouldn't be surprised if the predator pedal drive starts selling really well through the heartland.  Of course us in NorCal wouldn't even notice.

Hobie owners  like Rob and Salty now and again think they are trump like at times. Give me a break. Go cut on someone else fools. No one is asking you to change of course. There are people that are excited to see their preferred brand changing. Now go stroke yourself to sleep. hahahahah

I'm strangely with Craig on this.  I love all this innovation and change in the kayak fishing market.  I'll still own an old fashioned, basic paddle kayak, but the more the manufacturers start making new and more interesting kayaks, the more kayak fishermen we'll see on the water.  More fishermen = better.

I enjoy seeing all the new ideas come out. The different manufacturers throw out original ideas, or a different/new twist on an existing feature.

What I don't care for is the trend towards bigger and heavier.

Lifetime has something coming down the pike too...  a pedal version.    Plus they're about to release a 12' "Predator style"  model with a 850 price point.

To get a 50lb Hobie, all you need to do is saw off 1/3rd of the boat...

And a hobie with a better hull design and not get blown sideways when used as a plain kayak. Maybe a skeg?
