Was wondering if 44 inches of PVC is long enough  to cradle a pa?

I have a PA14 and each pipe is 7' long.  Any shorter and the cut end of the pipe detents into the bottom of the kayak over time.  7' and longer, the pipe is longer than the kayak contact area, so no edge.

If you want to run shorter than 7' pipes, try putting indoor/outdoor carpeting over the pipe for the middle 6', leaving the last 6" without carpet.  The carpet will give a lift to the kayak so the pipe ends don't bite into the bottom.

I used 4" black pipe.  It will withstand UV decay.  The white stuff won't but the gray stuff I think is outdoor rated too.  Both black and gray are more expensive than the white PVC.  You could paint the white PVC to protect it, but will require routine maintenance.

Ok here's what were wanting to do put two 22inch truck boxes on a 88 inch long Snowbear trailer and build a box in the middle with the tubes to hold the yak just above the boxes that way he don't need to lift it that high... Other thought was put some kind of cradle on the front to help hold the weight of the barge. That make sense? I have a welder and cutting tools so sky is the limit with the exception that he wants it as low as possible.
