Finally picked up a battery for my lowrance elite-5 today.  I know next to nothing about batteries so input would be nice if anyone has used this one or anything similar?

That will work.  They are just heavy.  Mine is a 7 or 8 AH and lasts all day.  I would think you would get at least two trips out with a single charge before needing to recharge it.

I use a 12V flashlight battery that I get at our local ACE Hardware that weighs about 1-1/2  lbs. It generally last me about 30 hours as it's non-rechargeable. I like it because there are only two points of contact (a positive post and a negative post) to worry about connections.

Get yah a plastic ammo box, or diving mask container, they work really well keeping that battery dry, just drill a hole add a rubber grommet and you are all set.
I got 99 problems, and fishing solves them all!

Yea, it weighs a good 5 or 6 pounds but I'll take a little more weight for something that will last me on a camping trip and not die out on the first day.  I do plan on making a battery box for it.  Anyone have any recommendations on the best electric hardware to use?  I want to have the battery and fuse inside the box and be able to plug in and unplug from the outside.
