After a long day at Pigeon, I KNOW that I need a new seat for my Ocean Kayak Ultra 4.7.  Even though fishing was a really slow, I wanted to stay out there.  I forced myself back in because I simply couldn't stand it.
I would love to find a seat with plenty of padding in the bottom and good lumbar support in the back.  I have read reviews that promote air filled seats and those that warn against the inevitable permanent deflation.  I think if I were elevated slightly, my legs could bend a little.  The lumbar support will force a better posture because I tend to slouch.  Things such as rod holders and gear pouches sound like a great addition, but I have ample space on/in the boat.  Lastly, I seem to find that some people prefer a certain seat but add an extra cushion so if there are some combos that some utilize, let me know.
I would love her some honest feedback from you all out there.

Check this seat out, I use it for 6-10 hour days and 12 mile paddles and I am comfy as can be...

I had the same issue, tried a few seats and the GTS Pro was money raises you up and super comfy. Expensive but worth it. Might mess with your cog a little but again worth it.

For a cheap fix until you find the right seat, try a bleacher cushion or gardening pad.

A gardening pad has saved my @ss for years.

Thanks everyone.

I think I'm leaning towards the GTS pro unless someone can talk me out of it.

I think I have the GTS Pro - I was really slouching in the short-backed seat I had.  I like the new one.  Padding on the butt was good but firm,  I still get tired sitting, have to remember to stretch my legs out and change positions.
Also, I sometimes wear a back brace under my farmer john - it's made of @ 3/4 " wet suit material, it's maybe 6" wide with a velcro patch ( on the wrong side - I sewed another on the other side so I can have the soft fabric side and not the rubber against my rash guard).  I think it's made for exercising- but it adds enough support without being restrictive.
