Not a problem if you have a friend. Great spot with good fishing but pretty Sharky so be careful.

Used to be one of my faves but so many shark encounters make it less than enticing now.

I would not want to carry a 140 pound PA14 down the winding steps on the south side of Pigeon Point. You could do a surf launch on the north side, but it is an unprotected launch. Not to be attempted unless you are experienced at surf launching.

Bean Hollow also require surf launching. It has a nasty shore break.

With a PA14, you should stick to Santa Cruz or other harbors. Surf launching that barge would be a challenge at best.

Pigeon Point, Bean Hollow, and Davenport are all very sharky.

The steps in Pigeon are really a workout for PA. I suggest lighter or have a fishing buddy can assist bringing it up and down. Yes, it is sharky but I think if you are in the ocean theres shark in there. Bean Hollow launch need to have a good weather I mean really good weather. Many experienced kayaker has been humbled by this place. Still my favorite spot since its shorter drive from where I live. I fished this area every year at certain time.

Yeah, I get tired just bringing my gear up and down.   :smt005

Hopefully you have a nice buddy willing to help you carry that tank down and back up the stairs.  As for the Bean, I completely agree with others and advise against attempting a surf launch with the PA there.

I've yakfished the area for years.
I've seen plenty o sharks to satisfy me for the rest of my fishing career, but only 2 or 3 of them were off Pigeon :smt003 Davenport is similar in sharkiness I have to say. I was fully checked out there last fall.

You'll need to really pick your day carefully with a hobie PA. Bean in particular can be a walloping shore break.

None of this is meant to dissuade you, only to illustrate that the other posts aint lyin.
As far as spots being fished out, it will depend on the day, tide, current, and time of the year. Mostly the San Mateo spots don't light up until June or July, but then sometimes you get years when the seasons turn on sooner. Also, these spots are all well known in the kayaking community, so they all get decent fishing pressure.
