Hello everyone. I'm here to introduce myself! My name is Chris and I live in modesto. I'm completely new to kayaking and looking forward to learning as much as possible around here. I don't have a kayak yet but I fish a lot out of my bass tracker or a friends ranger. I'm looking for a kayak now but taking my time to be sure to get the right one for me. I won't lie I follow a few forums and rarely post so I look forward to mostly reading everyone's post! Thanks a lot!

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone. First question for you guys is if anyone knows of a good place to go look at and possibly demo a kayak between modesto and pleasanton or anywhere close.

Howdy, Chris from Modesto.
Are you pondering what I’m pondering?

Welcome! Making the drive to Headwaters Kayak in Lodi is a great way to check out boats, including demoing them and getting great advice from all the folks there. I've bought three kayaks from Dan there over the years, and can't recommend them enough!
Hey thanks for that! I really like the lure 11.5 from feel free kayaks! How do you guys think it compares to the ride 115x and the coosa hd? Almost all of my fishing will be on the delta for black bass with a few small lakes and ponds mixed in. I am a big dude so some stability is necessary. Thanks again for help guys!

Take them all out for a test drive if you can.  I think you will really like the overall feature package found on the Ride 115.

I hope I get the chance to demo a lot of different kayaks. After looking at headwaters website it doesn't look like they sell Jackson's or wilderness systems kayaks.

Come up to Lodi this Saturday. Headwaters is having a swap meet. Plenty of good deals. There will also be Lodi  paddle fest coming up next month. Dan will have lots of boats there to demo.

It's my daughters birthday or I would be there! Thanks for the info though I'll have to make the next one.
