Ditto.  Besides its damn near impossible to get a good pic by yourself, and sharing the moment is even sweeter.  I have been blessed with some sweet moments from the other side of the deal...I will never forget Chucks tuna.

The Russian is gushing.  Its going to be quite a while until its fishable again.

Sean, nice fish, glad to see you guys getting out before the storm, I thought that was you.  Now that was steelheading weather.

Yesterday we were doing a quick spawning survey on Mill Creek near Healdsburg and watched a couple steelhead trying to jump the 6 ft. falls.  There was a jack jumping with them. These steelies really need this rain.  Us fisherman didn't need this much.  Good bye Russian for a minimum of 2 weeks.  Hello stripers???

Chuck-I have a lot to learn myself, I am not worthy of a seminar.  I am still studying under the young master.   For the most part if you read stuff on fishing for steelhead out of a drift baot its all pretty much thesame with the exception of plug fishing.  We have to do that on anchor.

Chuck anytime you want to come up you have a place to stay with river access, guides and shuttle service.

Man Sean, that's a real nice fish... again. I'm going to have to get up there when the river is fishable again. With this much rain, I'm guessing 2-3 weeks or so. Yeah... I'm going to get my stuff ready. I need to get a drift anchor rigged up and I'm set. I'll be paying Tote a visit to play in his shop to fabricate something soon. Good job again.

Excellent catch. Very nice Steelie. Looks like you had real authentic Steelhead fishin' weather too. Good thing too--its all part of the experience I am told. I am Told since I have never had the experience myself. It's a bit of my winter range to get up there but reports like that add motivation.

The closest I ever got to a Steelie is a 6 1/2 pound 'bow in the East Carson River--and that's nowhere near even close. I can just hope that one day...

Now thats an offer.  Not to mention the drift by Mikes is the nicest I have done...beautiful and fishy. 

Freddie: If you get your set up finished I'd be glad to take you brother.  I am sure you and Tote could do the same thing where i grew up on the American.  A drift from Natomas to Goethe would be wicked in a yak.

The party's certainly over. Russian's a gushin 17K today. It was quite a run. Definetly a year for the record books. This year showed how many fish really travel up the Russian!!! First year we've been really able to fish for em. Before the rains hit, I was hitting the river every chance I had. Last week when they opened the mouth it was all out for a week. I averaged 4 fish a day and had one epic day of 16 fish on the beach!!! A good mix of wild fish in the mix. Great to see a good showing of them. The only way we know how many wild ones are in there are year like this. Sorta glad it finally started raining, so I can get some of the backed up honey do's done... If I don't get another one this year that would be alright.... Yeah right!! who am I trying to kid...
