My old stomping grounds!  I'm there for sure.  I went last year and the guys helping out with the kayak demos were awesome.  Lodi lake is a very friendly place for a beginner to learn and to test new kayaks.
Three-fourths of the Earth's surface is water, and one-fourth is land. It is quite clear that the good Lord intended us to spend triple the amount of time fishing as taking care of the lawn.

Pretty fished a bit. Bass are bedded down back by the dam. The river is good for smallies around the trees and riprap.
I'm not sure what the boundaries for the tournament are, but the lake is pretty heavily fished, so I'm probably gonna hit the river if I can.

Sunday the 17th will be the day of our Big Bass Challenge. This is a simply CPR tournament with the top three anglers with the largest bass win gift cards to the Headwaters Kayak Shop.

If a tournament isn't your thing, we will also be having instruction, and SUP races going on all day. Paddling Clinics range from Intro to Strokes, Rescues, Advanced Boat Control, Intro to SUP, Intro to fishing from a kayak.
What time does the Big Bass Challenge begin on Sunday?  And are the paddling clinics offered both Sat and Sunday?  Thanks

Went to demo day today and it was super fun, but crazy chaotic! Some lady took her kid out on my boat thinking it was a demo and didn't come back for over an hour!  No big deal though, i had an eye on her and she was nice to it. Kids were paddling around unsupervised in super nice, expensive yaks ramming each other like they were in bumper boats! One little girl rammed me and laughed! It took some will not to give her what for! I just told her that that is not the way proper kayakers treat their boats, and it is not polite behavior. She didn't care and just laughed more. Oh man! I just paddled away.
Hung out with a few of the headwaters and yakabass crew,  and got a chance to paddle a Stealth Pro-fisha! Man that thing is sweet! Fast!!!  Alot more stable than it looks! I bet that thing just is a dream in big water.
Over all it looked like a big success, and I am looking forward to the tournament tomorrow.
Speaking of which...
Who's in for a  MBF side bet? I've got a ten spot that says I'll catch a bigger fish than you! 😎

I'll take that bet and see your $10!  I'll ask around in the morning and see if we can get any other takers.

Yesterday was nice, but the bite was slow. I landed two small bass 1 @ 13 1/2 & 1@ 14 1/2. The larger was spawning with a very large female in 2 ft of water. Managed to piss him off enough where he swatted the jig. Hooked himself in the face. The female didn't want anything to do with anything I put on the bed. 1st, 2nd and 3rd places were all 19 - 19 3/4. Lost my side bet to ring king who landed a 16. 😭
