this may be the Werner deal I've been waiting for.  Looks like they've also got the 230 in stock, which is my preferred size....

Damn you.

Awesome! I've been wanting to upgrade my cheapo that I got with my inflatable, but didn't think I'd be able to get a nice Werner. As a bonus, it's scheduled to arrive on my birthday! Happy birthday to me! :occasion18:

Sweet deal $12 with my dividend! Outfitting two boys for Scouts is paying off! What size should I get for an Outback, the 230 is too short for me...

It was $275, marked down to $232.93. Then, there was an additional $69 taken off when I clicked add to cart. Being an
REI member, I had a dividend of a little over a $100 that I put towards the paddle. Bam! $74.
I bought the 250, but I have a height adjustable (tall) seat, and am 6'4". I also like to stand up and paddle/fish, so I like the extra length and high angle blade. Should be a bump up from my Tybee model.

Now that make sense, it was still showing 163 on mine  :smt005

I got the 250 for my outback, because of the width, and the suspended seat that comes with the newer model.  There is a size chart on Werner's website to help you pick a paddle based on the width of your boat, your height, and the type of seat you use.
Fish laugh when I paddle by.  Sometimes they laugh so hard they fall on my hook.

Damn you.

Paddle arrived today.  Man, it's nice. So much better made than the POS carlisles I've been using/ storing water inside.

However, REI sent a bent shaft instead of the straight one pictured.  Have never used bent before.  Any one here care to give the plusses/ minuses in their experience?

Figure I'll take this out a few times to see if it fits the bill and return if it doesn't.
