Saved the carcasses from my last dive for crab bait and my buddies Jeff and Martin (two brothers who are super cool) took them out Friday and set 4 pots between Monterey and Moss.

Met up with the brothers and their kids Saturday AM and headed out to haul the pots.

First pot had 9 BIG crabs, all on a cabezon carcass...myth officially busted that crabs may not like cabezon carcasses.  :smt003

Second pot had 6 crabs of the same grade on a Ling carcass.

Third pot got STUCK and eventually we tied off the line to the boat and were able to snap the line right at the trap...bummer but at least we didn't leave a bunch of line floating in ocean.

Fourth pot was totally empty...it was a diff style pot and I think the door got stuck open.

Oh well, 15 big crabs was plenty for the three families so we motored back into shore and had lunch and beers before heading home.

I took home 7 of the crabs and cooked them up back home for my family and two other families.

Everybody loved em and we gorged and had fun.  :smt004
