Has anyone been out there lately?
I stopped by yesterday on the way home from work, mostly to check on the 'seaweed' condition.
From the dock it looked clear, just wondering If anyone has been out lately.
Last fall / late summer things were very clogged up with hyacinth.
With this bluebird weather we're wanting to go back out

The Consumnes river is flowing, so the current is constant no tides.. Slows down at high tide, but speeds up at low tide. Stripers at the confluence. Be prepared to have to paddle the whole way back to the dock, especially if it's windy.. Bass bite is picking up. Hit up wimpy's tomorrow, I'll be out there from 6:30 till afternoon.

The bass bite has been great on the Mokolumne lately. I will be out there tomorrow in an olive pro angler.

They drain Lodi lake this time every year. The Consumnes is a muddy mess.  Lots of displaced fish.

I was wondering why the current was constant all morning yesterday.  Made a late call to fish the preserve after seeing the other post.  Threw a large Rapala x-rap jerkbait for no love but I didn't do that for an extended period of time because it was getting too tiring.  A few folks were throwing large swimbaits.  Around 9am there was a guy coming back in an aluminum skiff with a 12+ and 8 pounders on board.  Didn't ask for details except he was using an x-rap.  Didn't see much activity on the FF.  Did get 6 chunky and feisty bass in the 13" to 16" range on cranks and senkos in 4 hours of fishing.  It was a little bit of a challenge at times dealing with the current and wind.

I appreciate the intel you provide Chris.

Chris! Take that extra N outta Cosumnes!  :smt002

Didn't fish it this weekend, but I now have an S-waver in the arsenal.
Wow, my whole life I've been adding the n!
Like my brain just saw it there. Weird....

Like I've been pronouncing it Con-soom-ness. My whole life. Grew up 5 miles away! Funny.
Gotta put that n from Mokelumne somewhere I guess. (Mu-ku-lu-me)

All the old timers who I first met in Walnut Grove called it the Cosumes.  It wasn't 'til I moved to Elk Grove 4 years ago that I had to re-learn the pronunciation.  I may try to hit the preserve later this week.

Thanks all for the info. I'm a duffer on a cheap boat just wondering how the conditions were. I was thinking ( hoping ) the colder water would blow out the seaweed . See ya out there.
