I was out there again on Friday. From the harbor, out to the channel, out past the reef than up to Mavericks is 3.4 miles 54 minute paddle. This year I was another 75 yards back than the last time, harbor patrol have turned into Nazis, I wont go back out again.

I got one of the best seats in the house. Went out on the f/v Pale Horse and got way up in the rigging. I was geared up and ready to paddle out when I got the offer to jump on the PH. I opted for a ride with beers and partying over morning exercise in traffic.
For anyone with some salt experience the conditions and paddle aren't bad at all. It's the traffic. Probably best viewed when the competition isn't on. It was epic a week before the comp.

Yes.  But given that Super Bowl 50 was underway all throughout the prior week, the Titans who now "own" "Titans of Mavericks" subordinated the quality of the ride in favor of enhanced commercial effect.  classic case of $$ >> stoke, i.e., "going corporate."  maybe an unfair criticism.  A guy's gotta eat, right?

I'm picturing sharky atop the crows nest = jealous
