A lot like the Rhino Bar from back in the day.

Thanks Salty!

I think I will try that out.  Do you think it will impede carrying my kayak upside down on the crossbars?

Very clean look.  Definitely got me thinking for future modifications.  Thanks for sharing the idea!

WOW! Nice work! But how many rods do you need?  :smt044

I definitely measured the distance between my rack crossbars before I mounted these just so they wouldn't interfere. You definitely don't want to have the whole kayak's weight on these & then strap the kayak down hard to racks. That would deform the H Rails.

Well I got to try out the H-Rails yesterday & they worked good. I actually did use them to both carry & unload the kayak from my roof racks. They give a very firm grip for handling the kayak.  So far the only "con" is the rod holders themselves. They do take a few additional seconds to unscrew the red screws far enough to remove them from the rails. They are long winded sons of bitches. But still I am happy with the new rod holder locations & ability to mount other accessories will be nice.

Contact California Canoe & Kayak in San Carlos, place an order (see Hobie catalog for part number) and I can help get it to you.

Thanks appreciate it. I just called and they don't have it in stock. Kayak city has the 21 inch bolt on. I could order it and then cut it to size since it looks like its a aluminum bar attached to plastic on both end.

here is a picture that shows where the paddle rests.

and also a little plastic sleeve I zip tied on to hold my hawg trough.

I definitely have enough rod holders now.   :smt003

You can see how far I used to have to reach to get to my forward rod holders.

Nice work! Got my wheels turning now!! LOL

Salty, I like it!  I like it a lot.  I too have a Revo 16 and have been mulling over how to attach anything to those skiny-ass gunwales.  There are a couple of enhancements I'd like to make to my boat, but there's just nowhere to attach much of anything to it -- the Revo is just so tweaked to being a speed-demon, that it's narrow.  That's okay, as here in the Bay Area's challenging conditions, I value the speed and seaworthiness of the Revo 16.

I like that Hawg Trough mount.  And the 101 mortar tubes; hey, parachute flares are helpful for night-fishing.
