I'm craving fresh rockfish...

Anyone fished the Half Moon Bay jetty lately?

Any other suggestions for shore rockfishing between, say, HMB and Jenner?

Thanks in advance!

Last weekend...

North of hmb.....breaking outside the coves.  Power.

HMB...all the reefs on East jetty breaking, vis crap, water surgy, waves crashing on jetty.  West jetty, surgy, choppy, limited vis. You could see the reefs breaking outside the cans.

South of HMB.  More of the same.

Probably looking at similar conditions this coming weekend with the system currently moving through.  I'd go further south or into the bay.
..........agarcia is just an ex-kayaker

Maybe try Horseshoe Bay.  North end of GGB.

Go out on the Satterlee breakwater at lowest tide and poke pole for monkeyface pricklebacks.

I've fished Horseshoe Bay a few times with limited success. It was SUPER windy both times I was there, so we were limited to fishing the inside of the Satterlee Breakwater. I caught a few tiny rockfish, but nothing worthy of a frying pan.

Eeling could be fun...

Am I the only one laughing?
Fish laugh when I paddle by.  Sometimes they laugh so hard they fall on my hook.

Is there really a thing called a monkeyface prickleback for which you must poke pole?

I guess so!

I can eat my humble pie, with a side of the delicate flesh of the monkeyface prickleback!
