I just wanted to give a shout-out to all of those who offered words of wisdom and recommendations for jobs across California. You all gave me hope and some excellent leads on jobs, and for that I am incredibly thankful!  :smt006

SOOOOOOOOOO............drum roll please!
I am super excited, doing jumping-jacks, and high-fiving everyone because........I  accepted a job offer! I am now the AVP of HR at a local banking institution in northern California and I start next week!
The best part is that banks have lots of holidays, haha - so that means more time OTW!
Woot! Woot!   :groupwave

Hi Guys, well - I was laid off of work today. My company was bought by another one, and they do all the HR work at the corporate level...so my services were no longer needed.
 :angry7:

This means I have plenty of time to get the trailer packed for Crab Fest! I am working hard at staying positive, ya see  :smt044

Anyone need an HR Manager? A really good one?

Ah man! Well, one closes, another one opens! Even if you gotta use a 6 1/2' strip of det cord and pop those damn hinges to do it!
Live your life, the way you want to be remembered. Don't have any regrets, we only get this one dance to make it count. Start at your eulogy, and work backwards.

I would love to live in Arcata - great area Cam!
But it wouldn't work, too far from family. I appreciate the link though, and it reminded me that I should start checking Craig's List as well....

I have over 13 years of HR experience and have both national and California certifications. I am also trained in Crucial Conversations, harassment and investigation, worker's compensation, FMLA/CFRA, employee relations, health benefits, and more.

And I can paddle a kayak and fish, hehe!

I tell you what, I am hoping to find some doors sooner than later. And I'm ready to pop some hinges!

Good luck, when I was laid off last July I didn't find anything for 5 months. But what I found was worth the time off. Sign up for unemployment online.
So long and thanks for all the fish!!!

Check out SMUD.  I really enjoyed my work there and especially the HR department.  A real class act they are.

I think all their positions are posted on-line.  Most of the really good positions are promoted from within, so don't be afraid to take a job there that just gets you in the door.  Once in, a myriad of job opportunities are available.

I see some listings for Sacramento here. Don't think you're interested in the National Guard listing unless you're open to going through basic training.  :smt044

Have you thought about the educational field, a little different capacity, at least to start, work in to a Dir position?
