i was wondering if any of you have attempted making a XL yakattack light pole. I see the parts kits for them online and thought I could put two of the pole kits together to make it twice as tall.

Just seeing if anyone has done so before I try.

Thanks
Zack

I'm talking about these fiberglass poles. I think two kits would go together to make it taller. Anyone?

The pole that comes with that light is pretty flimsy, and there are reviewers (on ACK, for example) who say they've broken it when their kayak turtled. So, I'd think a longer pole would have to be made of much stronger stuff.

In any case, if you figure out how to do this, please post, since the longer the pole the better...

I don't like stuff that sucks.

Joking aside, maybe an old CBF  whip antenna might work? Ooh, an old broken fishing pole with the eyes removed? Just thinking out loud here.

Old broken or cheap new fishing rods make great flag poles.  I use one.  pmmpete made a great fishing rod pole with a stern light attached to it.
