The one beef I have with these licenses is the ink will fade if heated.  Towards the end of the 2014 season, my name and address had literally "faded away" from my license.  And I never even left the license out in sunlight!  There's definitely room to improve with the current system.

at least they didn't go up in price!

Clayman, you must paddle in a lot of sun :smt005 but it probably is just that you fish more than almost anyone!

i just looked at my 2015 license since I was getting my 2016 and it looks like new. It has lived in my PFD pocket the entire year in a ziploc, except for two trips to gather mussels. I can only hope to get the "overuse fade" in 2016. :smt044

Alright, I take it back.  It wasn't my 2014 license.  It was my 2012 license.  The entire thing looked like this.  I never left it on the dashboard of my truck or in any direct sunlight.  I think the most likely culprit was when it was in my vest pocket and the vest was in the bed of my truck during summer days.  But even still, a license should not require an ice chest.

And no Bushy, my golden locks could not have been responsible for this.  I had short hair that year  :smt003.

"Coincidentally, I was watching North Woods Law last night, and they checked several fishing licenses (in Maine). In every case, the license was a credit-card sized. Good thing we live in the high-tech capital of the world..."

Yeh, come on. Someone in San Jose should be able to figure this one out. I understand Oregon's fishing license is much more compact too.

in florida, your license is stored in an app on your smart phone.
