Ok lets hear everybody's favorite line choice. Brand, test, and application. There are a lot of good fisherman on here so let's hear some good suggestions.

Won an OTW prize at a FW event a few years ago - 30lbs white Powerpro braid, didn't know what to do with it.
Mao Mao Mao seemed impressed with it so I spooled it on a small Calcutta.
That line has caught so many big-ass fish through the years and I haven't even reversed it yet!
Really impressed with that stuff, and hardly fish total mono now.

Casting braid: power pro, top shot: seagaur abrazx.
Spinning braid: J-braid, top shot: seagaur invizx.
Casting and spinning flouro from 4-15lb depending on application, but either in abrazx or invizx.

Depends on if you mean Freashwater, or Saltwater to me.  For fresh I use almost all mono, except a couple of reels with Fluorocarbon for sensitive fishing, like dropshotting.  For Salt, I use all braid, 30-40lb (mostly 30) and either a topshot of mono, or I use a mono or  fluorocarbon leader.  Reason being is the braid is thinner and sinks quicker / causes less drag. Mono is better for abrasion resistance, and a topshot/leader will break off easier than the braid, and keep from loosing the braid to snags that have to be cut off.

2nd that... J Braid or Samurai braid for everything. Hands down the best braid on the market. Super smooth and quiet, unlike old school PowerPro.

Ugh,  stay away from the 15lb spider wire translucent crap. Loaded up my little trout reel with it and it was tangled birds nests all day today. What a pain on the ass!

J-braid is amazingly soft and supple, it's a pleasure to use on spinning reels, but the grainy feel of PowerPro is actually a plus when it comes to baitcasting reels. If you birds nest PP, it'll pick right out, birds nest J-braid, your day on the water is probably over unless you've got a backup.

Interesting.  I've never heard of J-braid until now.  Maybe I should crawl out from under the rock from which I've been living.

I have never heard of J braid either. Who is it manufactured by?

Anyone know who actually manufactures it for them?
