Another great prize!!!

This one is from the awesome folks at Kokatat and will be for (at Kokatat's request) our second place AOTY Uminchu!!

The package arrived in the mail a few days ago and I opened it up to make sure they were the right size and color (yep!) and then I put it away safe and sound.

This is the 2015 DOTY prize Jackson Kayak Kraken 13.5 in "Electric Eel" that will be going to our DOTY DamaniJ.

I have been super impressed with this kayak and its combination of speed, ease of paddling, maneuverability, weight capacity, relatively light weight, and features that make it a great kayak for diving here on the NorCal coast.

I have both a Kraken 15.5 and a 13.5, and while I love the 15.5 I have found myself using the 13.5 more often recently. 

THANK YOU to Jackson Kayak for the generous donation, huge congrats to Matt for winning it, and I know that he will put it to good use.

Each participant in AOTY/DOTY will automatically receive one entry into a raffle once they pay the $40 entry fee. Participants can receive up to 20 additional raffle entries for each species submitted and approved in both AOTY and DOTY. 21 entries into the raffle will be the max that any player can have. The goal of the raffle is to encourage participation and friendly competition amongst those anglers and divers that may not be able to invest the amount of time needed to finish in the top three.

Recruited Valentina and Jayme to help me make the 1,000+ Participation Raffle tickets for the WS Thresher 140 last night!

After a little bit of trial and error we came up with a system that worked pretty efficiently...I would pull the needed number of tickets off the roll, write the name on one, give it to Vale to copy the name on the rest of them, then she would give it back to me, I would check it over real quick, separate them, and give them to Jayme for one final inspection (she made sure they were "perfect"  ) and to put in the Plano Box.
