2016 AOTY rule changes?

I like it, but I will never win if we do that. Most have heard my sturgeon luck.

considering that DFG is looking strongly to close sturgeon fishing this year due to population concerns, this seems like it would not be the best idea.

So since no changes have been made and the year has started I am assuming all rules stay the same.

I've been chatting with the committee members, and there will be some pretty significant changes in 2016. Several under consideration:

-Adding SUPs
-Requiring each angler to catch a sturgeon, but while trolling
-Separating out copper rockfish as a category
-Removing Salmon, Steelhead, Trout, Brown Trout, White Seabass, Lingcod as categories
-Adding American Shad, Pikeminnow, Tui Chub and White Bass
-Separating out the Panfish category into:  Bluegill, Redear Sunfish, White Crappie, Black Crappie, Sacramento Perch, Rock Bass, Green Sunfish, Yellow Perch, Warmouth, Pumpkinseed/Shellcracker
-Adding in a Grebe category - but based upon collar to tailfeather measurement only - Clayman's special, beak open OK.  (Sorry, no Kirk Graebes may be included in this category)
-Including Nacimiento Reservoir as an approved waterway
-Requiring a picture of each fish on a kayak, with angler wearing a PFD and using a Lowrance fishfinder only
-There will also be a new rolling requirement to include a some sort of hand symbol or token in every picture taken to ensure that they are taken in 2016.  The information regarding this symbol may only be retrieved by texting CenCoastAngler with the location of your catch, type of lure/bait used and water depth.  If you are not in cell phone range, please obtain a satellite phone.  This is done for purposes of fish verification, as the honor system is no longer allowed.
