Thanks for treating all of us that didn't go, with your stories and pics.

I can almost smell the YT blood.

For next year, we will set it up again in January so as to capture the good dates.  It might be one trip, it might be two.  But we will definitely do it.  For any that are intrigued and have not gone as yet, start saving your pennies and dollar bills now.  It really is an unbelievably affordable adventure.  Put away $20 bucks a week starting now, and you're on the boat next June.

super jealous as well.

How deep were you guys fishing. Seemed like all the YT were caught a stone's throw away from shore.

Muy Bonito in action.

Hahaha... oh my what a fun trip! What a fun bunch of guys! Crew and food... was bomb!

Those damn bonito. I stopped counting after 12.... but I tell you what those suckers can run!
I managed a bunch of quality Calico up to 5# both days. A few good ones came on an S-waver, deep diving plugs and weedless swim baits in the shallows along the cliffs and kelp. Basically bass fishing, it was a blast. As for yellows, I only managed 1 the first day. For me it was a learning day for sure, right drag setting, hook and technique. The 2nd day I scored 3 and missed a bunch including a toad who dragged my ass from 120' all the way to 40' FOW only to get down into the rocks and busted me off. Man, that was fun.

I had one bad plunder. I was dragging a plug on my way in for lunch and stopped to give Mark the rest of my bait. I set my brand new Daiwa Tatula into the rod holder and grabbed the bait for Mark. I hear a quick zzzz zzzz and turned around just to see a small splash and the rod was gone, violently ripped right out of my Scotty holder. F%^k!!!!!!!  :smt076 Oh well, lesson learned, rod leashes from now on. I had a good cry and went back to fishing :smt022

All in all it was such a great trip with lots of great memories made. Looking forward to getting back on some yellow tail next year... maybe Meheeeko! Thanks Dustin.

Texas thanks for driving, you rock bro! As you can see he stayed well hydrated on the trip!  :smt044 :smt044
