The learning curve from straight to bent shaft was about 5 minutes.

Adventure Technologies

and
Werner

These were the 4 companies that I found that are marketing kayak fishing specific paddles.

Werner paddles are the brand that I use most often.
I use a bent shaft 240cm Corryvreckan.  (Was built on request)
I also use the bent shaft 194cm Sherpa for my non fishing boat trips.
I am very happy with both and Werner is the front runner so far on my next purchase.

I really like their views on kayak fishing paddles.

"It is our philosophy, one that many kayak anglers believe in, that a great kayak fishing paddle is a great paddling paddle..........."
"The moment you decide to sit down and fish from a kayak, you need to start thinking like a paddler first."...

My paddle quiver.

I was looking at fishing specific paddles too like from bb. But all the ones that i would spend money on are heavier than my previous paddle. My previous paddle is a cheap 60 dollar harmony one, i liked it because it was very light, but i know its a matter of tone before it fails because its so cheap.

Then i read "i good fishing paddle is a paddling paddle" makes more sense to me, and i was sold.  So i went and bought a high angle werner paddle, taped on a measuring sticker, and that's my fishing paddle. Only thing i don't have is the notch for line retrieval, idont think i need that.  Wouldn't trade speed, comfort, power for fishing convenience.

This is interesting. 2 ounces heavier and a cute fish pic on it. Shuna 230 all carbon vs Shuna  lime drift carbon shaft glass blade. The latter being sold as a fishing paddle. Same shape. Same curvature. I had a Werner CV and it was too much for my old joints. The Shuna works well for me. Not into gimmicks. I do need to try a bent shaft as my wrists are going south with the rest of my old body. I like this topic Terry. Some of the angler specific nuances are just not needed for ocean fishing which comprises most of my water time.

hey Craig,
I remember hearing about someone loaning you a bent shaft paddle a year or so ago. I heard it was shorter than you needed, but did you ever try it? I have longer one you can try now.

How about a paddle designed to lessen fatigue from / ease paddling one handed (while positioning and what not)?  I've got enough tape measures and hog troughs, don't need a sticker on the shaft.

Maybe its out there already and I'm not looking hard enough...

Something like this?

How about a cheap ping pong paddle?

love my big-heavy-large contact surface Cobra power paddle...moves tons of water and can be paddled as hard as the users ability--I know I have not been able to out muscle it---more effort just gives more thrust

I forgot it once and had to borrow a normal size paddle--was like using a coffee stir stick
