Well the second phase of the coastal trail is now open.  I walked part of it last night.

The entrance is across the street from the new Taco Bell (near Safeway) to the south side of the Georgia Pacific property.  There is lots of parking and a large road in where overflow parking can be found during the busy season.

I didn't verify the trail connects to the one to Glass beach but was told it should.  The trail is supposed to run from Noyo Headlands all the way to Glass beach and north past Pudding creek and cont past Mackerricher  and go up to Ten-mile.

Some of the cliffs look steeper than other entry points but I am sure some will figure out how to shore dive from more spots that are now accessible.

But for others you can walk or ride a bike very long distances now and enjoy the coast the whole way.

Have fun and be safe. The water has been crazy so watching from a distance has been my way of staying connected.

It's awesome, but it doesn't connect--yet.  I'm gonna rig up a my cruiser bike with a big basket so I can ride down there with my dive gear.  There's some great diving in there--on both the north and south sides.
