For the price of the NRS Sidewinder bibs, you can almost buy a full dry suit, which is way safer than bibs or waders for cold water and cold weather conditions.  If you want to keep your feet, legs, and butt warm and dry in moderate conditions, a less expensive option is the NRS Kokatat Hydrus 3L Tempest dry pants.  http://www.nrs.com/product/25051/kokatat-hydrus-3l-tempest-dry-pants-with-socks .  These dry pants have a wide waistband which makes a better seal than waders or bibs with a belt, the waist is sufficiently low that it's much easier for a guy to pee into a funnel when wearing them than when wearing waders or bibs, and they have dry socks.  Most dry pants have ankle gaskets rather than dry socks, and I think that dry pants with ankle gaskets are a bad choice for kayak fishing from a sit-on-top kayak, because your feet spend a lot of time in the water or wet when fishing from a sit-on-top kayak.

On the other hand, an advantage of the Sidewinder bibs over waders is that they have a pee zipper.  It can be tough for a guy to pee when kayaking while wearing waders because you may need to take off your PFD and take the wader's suspenders off your shoulders so you can push the waders far enough down to pee.

Speaking of peeing when kayaking, here's a safe and convenient way for a guy to pee while sitting in a sit-on-top kayak.  Total cost of materials, under five bucks at your local hardware store; total time to assemble the equipment, under thirty seconds.

Don't forget the total time to fish "johnny" out of a couple of clothing layers, in a crouched position, with PFD hindrance, before custom "human scent" starts the warming process.
