yeah no bueno. Well...It seems this year we are gonna get drenched. When the water level gets low don't they transport the juveniles down stream? Either way with the water surface temperature being warm, salmon was bound to take a hit. Let's see what EL NINO has in store for us.

These next couple years are gonna be brutal for all runs, not just the winter-run.  This year's returns of 3 year olds were the first to come out of CA's prolonged drought.  The drought only got worse from there on out, so we could expect shittier returns for all the wild stocks.  IF this year turns out to be a wet year, we wouldn't see its effect in terms of adult returns until 2019.

When the water level gets low don't they transport the juveniles down stream?
Hatchery fish, yes.  But not wild fish.  In terms of restoring wild runs, hatchery fish are (mostly) garbage.
