The different metals in the components of the mechanism don't get along, corrosion insues. I like both the PB blaster and Wiemarians hit the panel with your fist ideas. Given time it might straighten itself out but you don't have time to give. Good luck.

Have your wife try.

Mine jams up in my Toy too. Older 92. I have to open the window and lift outer handle and then it works fine. If the tumblrers are not working with the key, the key may be worn out too. Mine had that issue too and a new key fixed that part.

There is probably a small part in the latch that is broken. I have fixed this quite a few times. Hondas mostly. I can get the trim off. You need a new latch assembly. I have had to air chisel the latch apart a couple of times to get it to release. Get the latch and when you come to Sonoma come by Petaluma and Ill put it in for free.  Its not the key cylinder.

^^

Agree, not the key cylinder.
There is some kind of disconnect between the handle and the latch.
I put this kind of actuator on 2 doors so far and they work like a charm.
I got four of them, shipped in 2 days for like $18.

Can you get the window down?
If so, look down the crack and see if a slim jim would get to what you need to pop it open.

You might try looking on you tube for your make and model on how to remove door panel. You have to be careful of breaking clips

Luckily I don't have to go the Mad Max route. It was a little tension spring. One of its hooked ends broke off. The shop bent a new hook with the tag end and it's good to go, 2 hours labor and $140 later.
So much for the new boots I wanted. :smt009
