I just bought a new Hobie Revo 13.  I found a 2014 model with the old style seat.  With a weight belt on, I would not want to climb into one of the new Hobies with the metal framed seats.

My old Revo has the depth finder mounted forward of the pedals.  It has always been difficult to see and make adjustments.  Does anyone with a Hobie have a better idea for a depth finder mounting location? I have a small Lowrance Elite 4.

I use a YakAttack short track with a tract mounted RAM ball just forward of the rudder control on the left side of the yak.  Works well for me, but I'm not a diver.

Ditto! +1 I don't dive either, but at least I fish with mine.   :smt003

On the gunnel just in front of either side pocket, you should be able to fit a Scotty flush mount. On my Adventure (Revolution 16) I find that to be the ideal location for a FF.

I have the new hobie and the seat is not a problem.  I thought the FF on either side would get in the way so tried a ball mount in front of peddles and it was to far away.  I tried on right side in track system with movable ball to mount it on and love it.

This can be easily moved if needed.  I dive a lot and it doesn't get in the way.  It is to hard to see the screen if it's to far away.  Getting old sucks.

I mounted a small ram mount inside the left side pocket.  The post protrudes up through the opening of the pocket.   It's nice and close for adjustments and visibility.  I used the Hobie "through hull" connectors for the cables.

pick one side to re-enter on and mount the FF and stuff on the other side as the guys describe. I don't dive, but have done this on my 2015 and find it works well.

A Scotty deck mount will also fits nicely inside the pocket.

Depending on the model of FF/GPS you choose, RAM (for example) makes a custom mount for the Lowrance Elite 4 & 5 units.  Looking for wire feedthrus?  Check out the 'Hobie Thru Hull Wiring Kit' available at a few local retailers or online.  I think these are possibly the best thing currently going in pass thru's on a kayak at the moment.

Thanks for all of the tips. I am leaning toward the Scotty track and ram mount.  The track seems to provide additional flexibility.

Any recommendation on an NCKA sponsor for the purchase?

My two cents.

Keeping the  FF, pole holders, crab pullers, down riggers, etc out of the paddle stroke and re-entry zone (after a dip) should be kept in mind.

I am second-guessing where to put an Elite-4 on my 2014 Revo 13.  I want it close, too.

I've thought about a mount in the mesh pocket or on the gunwale near the cup holder or installed vertically in the cockpit (at the closest foot rest where I'd have enough depth) and I can't get a mental picture of how the Elite will work mounted in any of those locations.

I'm going to avoid tracks if at all possible.  I like the recessed tracks in my Tarpon, but I don't want to use surface-mounted tracks if it can in any way be avoided.

Could someone post a picture of mounts in the pocket and near the cup holder?  I'm not good in theoretical mode when I'll have to drill big holes... pictures help.
