  Not having a garage ever, I take if from that picture that the spring shouldn't have a gap in it? :smt044  kinda hard spring to hold tension when the clamp thingy isn't connected huh? Of course it happened  fishing morning.

Happened right after my wife left for work, she left 15 minutes before I was going to.  So I blame her!  She didn't agree with me though.
