For the 3.5 day trip we'll leave June 2 in the evening, and come back on Monday June 6. Price is $800 each

Yea, but I catch petrale sole as big as some of those halibut in that video as well as released pacific halibut bigger than most of those just catch a bigger one.

I want yellowtail or ca halibut in the 40lbs class or better.

That is totally photo shopped.   . They are not even looking in the direction of the fish. Cut it out. 

Yo ! just seen this on craigslist. Don't know if this is something you would be using on your trip. Live bait hooks. Looks like some even have the split rings attached. Was introduced to those last year for the first time. I think Dustin mentioned he was going to set some up. Maybe a group buy. Hope it helps. Maybe next year for me.

I have few packs in different sizes.  I use them to replace assist hooks on my butterfly jigs

Circle hooks, especially ringed circle hooks, are pricey. On long range trips, I only use them when fishing for tuna. I use J hooks for yellowtail. However, whatever Dustin is catching with them is apparently working. I caught my 39 pound halibut last year on a 7/0 J hook.

Went to OPS today just to send in three of my defunct revo toros for maintenance and servicing....ended up bringing home a shimano teramar ex70mh spinning rod for this trip. Of course now I need to fit it with a nice little spinning reel that can handle fat goats and yts!
