Sorry to say but this group buy is having to be cancelled for now.  Some unexpected things came up in life that require my immediate attention.  Don't fret, however!

In talking with S.H., they turned me on to this online deal that you can still get the $20 rebate on & the purchase price of the radio is STILL less than $100 to start with!!!!

   Their site looks to offer FREE GROUND SHIPPING (just created an order myself to see what the total was; didn't place the order though) & NO TAX.  I've never dealt with this company so I cannot vouch for them whatsoever.

  Again, sorry to have to put a hold on this locally (for now) but I will work on other offers after my attention can return to this part of my life.

I cancelled my order online because West Marine price matched the HX300 and I grabbed one yesterday!! So, if you have a West Marine around, technically you just saved us $50 and they do carry them!!

Thanks again! Very impressed with the functionality on a >$100 VHF, not to mention the $20 mail in was pretty nice as well!

Those looking to buy locally, testing the 'Price Match' with West Marine is always an option.  This was all supposed to have gone down locally, thru various West Marine stores but life took a turn so I had to abort that directive for the time being.

Worth a shot to check with your local store.  If you are planning on checking with a local WM store, let me know and I can give you the Store Manager name/contact that will most likely make it happen for you.

Bill they just asked for GPSSTORE.com's zip, found the local WM is 15miles away, matched the price, gave me the rebate form, I gave a high five and walked away with a smile on my face!

PS.. does anyone own one of these? It looks to me that the NOAA frequencies are preset. Is there any way to create a saved channel / program a channel for a more centralized local NOAA forecast? It seems this one covers the entire Nor Cal region and is kinda a PITA waiting 30 mins just to hear SC or Monterey Bay forecasts...
