couple of months ago i did a 6 miles trip down from Guerneville, and it was absolutely fantastic. Partially b/c i did it with my kid :) and b/c of this i did not go all the way down.. anyways, it was gorgeous and i'm looking forward to do it again next year. and then maybe with younger kid :)

The Russian: It's officially closed due to "Low Flow Restrictions" Oct 1 thru Apr 30th unless flows get above 300cfs. FYI

I believe I read that any of the sand bars can be used along the river.  I don't think it said specifically that you could camp on them but rather anyone could pull up on them.  I'm sure some of the landowners along the river would give you a hard time but I believe you'd be legal.

     Ugh!!! That sucks balls!!!!!!!! Mike said it was red hot last night. this new low flow closures will make flyfishing on the russian more interesting.
