pb salmon fishin benicia...advice?

My buddy has a wild hare up his keester about salmon fishing benicia apparently where all the bank anglers fish. So thats where we'll be sat at sunup. Hes talked to lots of guys on facebook about it and has alot of good information. Curious if anyone on here knows about that spot or fishes it as well. Fish on!

End of First Street or Benicia State Park.  No major run being reported yet.  I took  a stroll there this past Wed and only a couple of bank anglers on First street.  Have fun this Saturday guys.

when they first see you coming to the area, they'll put heavy weighted lures on the line, not in hopes of a salmon, but in hopes of hitting you. The salmon run right along the shore, so any hopes of getting them from way out are a long shot.

i've been along that shoreline when it happens, and they treat boaters and yakers the same......this is what they say,"there is alot of water to fish when in a boat or yak, why do you have to be in front of us shore casters?"

I fish sailor bar and thermalito alot.im down for combat fishing. Hittin me or my buddy intentionally would be a mistake. We'll see what happens lol. Id rather get along! But if we need to beach the boat and get down, thats fine too. Actually, wouldnt be the first time ( discovery park 2012 ) !

I bet those guys on the bank were surprised when you went to shore to handle business.

Went out in yaks with a buddy sat. I ended the day with a skunk, my buddy got one. We saw a lot of fish being caught by the shore anglers. We stayed well out of range, or so we thought! The tide pushed us a bit closer than planned a few times, and even though we were still a ways out, one guy managed to throw a long one that snagged my trolling line. Not a friendly crowd  fish were everywhere though, and very bright. The one we got went about 6 lbs or so and bit a mepps spinner with a gold blade and red/yellow beads.
