ben and ted's excellent adventure - 9/2015

at the risk of sounding like a broken record, i launched out of half moon bay with my co-worker, ben, and his friend ted, ran down to pescadero, fished mostly 60 feet or less, stuck a limit of blacks, a half dozen blues, 5 really nice vermillion, 3 cabs and four ling cod.  listened to the salmon guys out of half moon bay struggle.  we used jig's, swimbaits, and shrimp fly rigs with whole squid.  on the way out, i was telling ted about ben's kids using the laser minnow on the ultralight spinner.  ted grabbed that rig and started fishing with it.  he landed 5 blacks before ben and i got our first bites on flat fall jigs.  i switched over to a shrimp fly rig with whole squid and stuck 3 ling cod.

this vermillion tipped the scales at 5 pounds.

ben got all 3 cabs.

ted got a nice ling on bait.

all in all, a most excellent adventure!

one on a white jig, one on a bare shrimpfly, and three on whole squid.  three of the ling cod came in on whole squid and one was hitchhiking.  we fished in close, less than a mile from shore according to the radar, depths varied from 30 to 60 feet, from pescadero to the light house, including bean!
